Common questions
Is my match history backed up?
Yes, if iCloud sync is on — and it is on by default. Your games sync through your own iCloud account, so they follow you to your other devices.
You'll find the switch in Settings → iCloud → Enable iCloud Sync. It only appears when you're signed in to iCloud on the device, and changing it takes effect the next time the app starts.
Turning sync off never deletes anything. Your games stay on the device they were created on.
Can I export my games?
Yes. Open Game Overview from the board menu to export your match history to a file, and import it back on another device.
Your custom game setups export separately, under Settings → Game Metadata. Both are plain JSON, so the data is yours to keep.
How do I add or remove players?
In Settings → Players, tap the dashed circle to add a player — up to four. Tap any player to rename them, change their counter color, or set their starting life; the delete button appears there once you have more than one player.
Can I track something other than life?
Yes. Settings → Game Metadata lets you define the fields you want recorded with each match — hero, format, opponent, result, or anything else you name. Build a setup per game, and the fields you defined show up when you record a result.
What are the gestures?
Tap a counter's top half to add and the bottom to subtract, hold to run the total fast, use two fingers to jump by a set amount, and swipe up to recolor a counter. During setup, hold and drag to set starting life.
The Gesture Guide walks through them all — it appears the first time you open a board, and you can replay it any time from Settings → Get Help.
Does it work on iPad?
Yes — TCG Copilot is a native app for both iPhone and iPad, and needs iOS or iPadOS 26 or later. On iPad it rotates to any orientation; on iPhone it stays in portrait.
Playing around one device? Turn on Shared View in Settings to angle each counter toward its seat.
Can I change how it looks?
There are eight themes — Pure, Monochrome, Neon, Aurora, Sunset, Synthwave, Retro, and Tavern — under Settings → Appearance → Theme, plus a separate light/dark setting that can follow the system or stay put.
